Kili Videos!

The first video (1:23) was taken on Day 2, after we arrived at Shira 2 Camp. You’ll notice that we seem pretty happy – the sun is shining, our breath sounds are normal, life is pretty good…
Fast forward to Day 6, when we’re in the midst of our very slow and very steep slog up to Stella Point. This video (0:56) was shot at roughly 17,500 feet. While Laura, Christi, and I were gasping for air with every step, Evans demonstrated why he’s been able to summit Kili 111 times. The guy is unstoppable!
The next two videos (0:38 and 0:57) were shot on top of Uhuru, which for all intents and purposes felt like the top of the world. You might notice the breathless sound to Laura’s narration – it’s hard to describe how thin the air was up there or how exhausted we were after two frozen, nearly sleepless nights – but damn, if it didn’t feel good to reach the top!
