Travel Technology

Just in case you’re wondering how we’re staying connected and documenting our trip, here’s a glimpse of what world travel is like in the modern age…

There’s a bit of trickery here… can you figure it out?

Trickery eh? I just can't believe you are taking what appears to be a wireless bluetooth mouse given your space constraints!

Christi points out that something doesn't add up- if this is ALL your gadgets, how'd you take this picture? Katy says that she thinks these rows of neatly-placed gadgets might possibly be an example of being somewhat anal. Nathan has nothing to add because he's too busy checking around the house in Tahoe to see what's flammable.

Trickery, huh? Hmmm... other than the fact there's clearly no way for all devices to be charging at once, the only trick seems to be that you intend to intend to throw a headphone party. 4 sets of headphones? Seriously?

Oh, and why in the world aren't you using a munlit-use plug adapter? I see at least 6-7 devices that could get replaced by just one there...

What's the trickery? I'm actually kind of dying to know.

hmmm, apparently "multi" changes to munlit somehow. I dislike either my own fast fingers or your auto spellcheck.

Oh wait... you intend to listen to Zaireeka via headphones wrapped around your own head. That's it, isn't it?

I was going to ask which Greg posted the comments about the munlit-use plug adapters, but the Flaming Lips post pretty much solved it for me. :) Yes, the trick was how to take a picture of everything, including the picture-taking device. In the end, I took the photo with my iPhone and Photoshop'ed a copy of Laura's phone next to itself to represent mine. We're already putting together a bag of stuff to send home, and her iPhone just might be in there. Very little use so far for two.

Not sure if you can make general comments or only associated with a posting...I'd ask my own personal IT support person, but he seems to have left the country.

And while I may flounder when it comes to all things technology related, I do like math. And am curious to know how yesterday when we looked at your blog you had consumed 4 feet of subway sandwiches, and now you have only consumed 3.5. Is it that darned metric system again?

Leave it to Christi to notice the funny math! We pre-counted an entire footlong sub that Laura bought, but we accidentally left half of it behind in Auckland, so of course, we had to be accurate. :)

One thought, having known Maestrelli in her formative years, have you labeled each item with numbers and do a check as you leave each location to make sure you don't leave a very important charger or device behind?

Just a thought as I remember spending hours in the dark after the homecoming bonfire searching for Laura's car key in the dark (which I believe was eventually found in her pocket).
